Roger Pitts – Acoustic & Electric Guitars, Piano and Keyboards, Bass

Roger Pitts is a dynamic teacher and performer. Originally a self-taught musician, he has a degree from the Conservatory of Music at UMKC, where he studied graduate level classical guitar with Douglas Niedt. He also studied arranging at the piano with the legendary John Elliott for many years. Roger performs and tours regionally, and was selected to be a Kennedy Center Teaching Artist. His CD “Seven Wonders” received an award for song writing from the Kansas Arts Commission.

Roger has had endorsements with 4 different guitar companies (Schecter, Parker Fly, Alvarez, Dean) as well as a keyboard sponsorship with Korg Musical Instruments. Most recently, the president of Schecter Guitars gave Roger a brand new 8-string guitar after seeing him perform on a YouTube demo . . .

…and he LOVES to teach music! Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced player, acoustic or electric, you’ll improve rapidly!

The lessons are structured so that the first half of the lesson covers technique, music theory, ear-training, and sight-reading (all the things you need to know!) – and the second half of the lesson focuses on the songs and styles that interest you the most. Not only will you learn the techniques and theory, but you’ll understand the concepts behind them so you can create your own music!

Whether you’re planning to go into music as a career or just want to be able to play a few of your favorite songs, Roger has the experience and knowledge to help you improve fast and avoid common mistakes . . . and he makes it fun!
